Mrs. Chaya Legumsky
born and bred in London, England, balances her private work as a therapist practicing Torah-based counseling with her career of teaching. She is sought after for her expertise in areas such as the Jewish calendar, philosophy of the mitzvot, and women's issues. Mrs. Legumsky studied at Keele University in England from which she holds degrees in English Literature, Education and Philosophy. She attended Neve Yerushalayim College for Women and is currently a senior lecturer at Eyaht, Ner L'Elef, Ohel Sara Imeinu, JEWEL and GEM.
Rabbi Ken Spiro
graduated from Vassar College with a BA in Russian language and Literature and did post-graduate studies at the Pushkin Institute in Moscow. He holds a Masters degree in history from the Vermont College of Norwich University and Rabbinical Ordination from Aish HaTorah in Jerusalem and the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. A dynamic speaker, he lectures throughout the world on Jewish history and values. Rabbi Spiro is the author of the recently released book, WorldPerfect, based on Aish Hatorah's popular seminar of the same name which he originated
Rabbi Moshe Zeldman
has a degree from the University of Toronto in Math and Artificial Intelligence. In addition to being a lecturer in the Aish Yeshiva, Discovery Seminar and the Executive Learning Center, he is involved in ongoing code research and works with leading code researchers worldwide. He received his rabbinical ordination from Aish HaTorah and the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem.
Rabbi Yaakov Yisroel Wenglin
graduated with a B.A. cum laude in History and Literature from Harvard University. After graduating from Harvard, Rabbi Wenglin worked as an operations executive for Bloomingdale’s in their management training program before attending the UCLA School of Law. After law school, Rabbi Wenglin joined the Manhattan law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison as a corporate associate. Rabbi Wenglin studied at Aish HaTorah, where he taught periodically on the Jerusalem Fellowships and the Essentials programs. Several years later he determined that the time was right to hit the road and bring his package of talents and experiences to audiences in North America in the form of his flagship presentation, “Full Contact Judaism.” He has appeared on the Jewel teaching schedule since 2001. He and his family live in Ramat Bet Shemesh.
Mrs. Ilana Cowland
Mrs. Ilana Cowland is a well known and highly respected lecturer on the international circuit. When she was director of women's education at Aish UK, Aish HaTorah International's largest branch, she developed a complete curriculum for Jewish women of over 70 separate classes with a specific focus on the women's role in Judaism, relationships, marriage and personal growth. All of these classes have been taught in many different countries and settings.
In addition, she has lectured for Aish, Meor, Pathways, GEM, Tribe, Birthright and Jewish Women’s Renaissance project. She runs workshops in parenting and Marriage all over Jerusalem and works with Aish HaTorah and the Jerusalem Kollel in instructing women in outreach positions on many Kiruv issues.
With her diverse and comprehensive range of classes, charisma and wonderful blend of wit, empathy, deep ideas and practical advice, we are proud to have Mrs. Cowland as our Educational Director here at Jewel.
She is married to Rabbi Jamie Cowland, and they live in Jerusalem with their 6 children.
Mrs. Shaindy Eisenberg
As the grand daughter and daughter of noted authors and world renowned
speakers (Reb Esther Jungreis, Slovie Jungreis Wolff) Shaindy Eisenberg is
continuing the legacy of passionate Jewish women. Since moving to Israel 6
years ago with her husband she splits her time raising her family, teaching,
and organizing events for the young olim community. She's taught at Jewel,
aish executive learning center, shearim college, fellowships, Hillel IDC and
mayanot. In addition Shaindy gives popular monthly classes in Jerusalem and
Tel Aviv to young professional women. As the text teacher for Jewel her
vision is to bring the ancient text of the Torah alive to the modern day
(Rabbi) Dov Ber Cohen
(Rabbi) Dov Ber Cohen, is originally from England. Having completed a BA Hons Degree at the University of Manchester, he spent the next 6 years living in Asia, where he taught English and Buddhism, as well as volunteering in orphanages and learning martial arts.
After leaving Asia, Dov Ber came to Israel and studied in yeshiva for over a year, discovering the deep wisdom and spiritual insight of Torah Judaism. In 2008 he set up All for the Kids, an organisation which focused on raising money for orphans in Israel and Africa. He emerged from there with a new project, Be a Kli, which saw him lead outreach, social action and self development projects with Israeli backpackers in India. Once again the project received worldwide press coverage. In 2010, Dov Ber was employed by an Israel social action start up, Lev Olam, where he helped develop the organisation as well as becoming their projects manager and running more trips to India.
He made Aliyah at the end of 2008 and appears in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ web-booklet entitled ‘Young Leaders of Israel 2010.’
He is now Director of Education for Justifi, an organisation running Jewish social justice trips to Thailand.
Dov Ber also teaches martial arts and just received Smicha (became a Rabbi).
He lives in Jerusalem with his family.
